Meet the Instructor

Hello!

My name is Monique.

I am the founder of OLO

and the teacher.

My best qualification for working with your children is my ​experience as a homeschool mom of 6 years! Our ​homeschool is big on time in nature, hands-on experiences, ​practical projects, and creativity. Additionally, I am a certified ​Florida educator with 14 years of teaching experience in ​Florida. I have also taught internationally and hold a M. Ed.

Welcome to OLO Microschool! I hope to meet your family ​soon!

I have four children ages 7-16. An interesting ​fact about my family is that we were ​worldschoolers for five years! It was an ​incredible experience, and the world has ​been our greatest textbook. As an educator, I ​learned that children learn and remember ​the most from real-world experiences that ​make practical connections to book ​knowledge.

I believe education should be practical and God-centered; knitting the development of the physical, mental, and spiritual parts of a child. It must be interesting and inspiring! Homeschooled children also need community and friendships. To achieve these ideals at OLO Microschool, we emphasize organic intelligence and collaborative project-based learning.
